چکیده
We present two cases of subarachnoid hemorrhage caused by aneurysm development and enlargement in the anterior communicating artery complex. The cases occurred in a series of 58 balloon occlusions for unclippable giant aneurysms of the internal carotid artery.

De novo cavernous aneurysms development after contralateral parent artery occlusion—Two cases report
A 53-year-old woman developed a de novo aneurysm after contralateral internal carotid artery occlusion, and another 42-year-old woman developed a de novo aneurysm after contralateral vertebral artery occlusion. Both patients experienced a rapid development of de novo aneurysm formation, 6 and 9 months, respectively. The development of de novo aneurysm on the contralateral artery after parent ar...

A 22-year-old woman developed an unruptured fusiform aneurysm of the internal carotid artery 7 months after being diagnosed with Wagener's granulomatosis. Intracranial aneurysmal formation is an extremely rare complication of Wegener's granulomatosis. This rare case of intracranial aneurysm was treated by endovascular balloon occlusion.
متن کاملLong-term 3T MR angiography follow-up after therapeutic occlusion of the internal carotid artery to detect possible de novo aneurysm formation.
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE The purpose of this study was to assess the incidence of de novo aneurysm formation, the incidence of subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), and the growth of existing untreated aneurysms in 52 patients after therapeutic carotid artery balloon occlusion for carotid aneurysms. PATIENTS AND METHODS Between January 1996 and August 2004, 52 patients were treated with carotid artery...
متن کاملLower cranial nerve palsies due to internal carotid dissection.
A 41-year-old man experienced intense headache and neck pain, bruits, and a complete unilateral cranial nerve palsy IX-XII (Collet-Sicard syndrome) after a trivial back trauma. Magnetic resonance imaging and angiography demonstrated features of bilateral internal carotid artery dissection with aneurysm formation at the base of the skull compressing the nerves at the level of the jugular foramen...
متن کاملOcclusion of experimentally created fusiform aneurysms with porous metallic stents.
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Carotid fusiform aneurysms are most commonly treated with occlusion of the parent vessel. The purpose of our study was to assess the effectiveness of self-expanding, cobalt-alloy stents in the ablation of experimental fusiform aneurysms with preservation of the parent vessel in a carotid artery model. METHODS Porous metallic stents were placed endovascularly along the l...
